‘Just to say we enjoyed our second visit to Maple Cottage as much as the first one. It so so relaxing there and comfortable. We found plenty of things to do in the area, I especially enjoyed the visit to Acorn Bank for the herb garden. We were a bit cold when we had been walking in the gardens so I suggested we visit the mill at Little Salkeld which Rev David had recommended for the bread and cake. ‘Hi Claire, just to say what a lovely holiday we had at Maple Cottage last week. We were blessed with some unusually warm weather for the time of year. Although we did get a bit windswept up at Alston, good job there was a good coffee shop for hot toasted crumpets! It was great being able to reserve a table at the the Strickland Arms for when [our family] came to visit, they loved  the cottage as well. Also, I had bought in ingredients for a chicken stir fry with the intention of using a large saucepan, we were cheering when we  found the wok. In fact there was nothing we could not find so it gets our vote as one of our all time favourites. Everything so comfortable & homely, hope to visit again if you will have us .
